LSU Moodle Module on Academic Integrity
SAA has created a 7-part Academic Integrity course through Community Moodle. The class begins with a pre-test, designed to score how well a student understands LSU’s academic expectations and citation method. Next, the student navigates 5 sections on academic integrity:
- What is Academic Integrity?
- Understanding Plagiarism
- Paraphrasing and Summarizing
- Understanding Citation and Documentation
- Tips and Strategies for Avoiding Plagiarism
After students complete each section, they take a section quiz. Finally, students take a post-test to assess what they have learned through the module.
This class is available for you to use for each class you teach. To enroll your students, simply e-mail dossaa@lsu.edu and supply a copy of your class roster. SAA will then create a group unique to each class. You will then receive an instructional e-mail to send to your class that includes an enrollment link and password. Once a student completes the module, you can verify they passed the course and check the quiz grades. SAA recommends assigning this at the beginning of the semester to help equip students with information to avoid common academic violations.
