LSUPD Website & Training

The LSU Police Department's website (LSU.edu/police) provides a valuable medium for enhancing communication with LSU students, staff, faculty and visitors.

In conjunction with the website, the LSU Police Department and LSU Emergency Operations are offering access to “Shots Fired, When Lightning Strikes,” an active shooter response training program. “Active Shooter situations are contemporary crimes and though, as the training iterates, your chances of encountering such a situation are less than that of being struck by lightning, LSU has ensured preparation through the training of first responders and campus essential staff,” said LSU Chief of Police Lawrence Rabalais. “Now we would like to afford the campus community with the opportunity to increase preparedness by providing access to critical guidance on how to recognize and survive the unthinkable.”

This training is free and accessible to all students, staff and faculty via http://www.lsu.edu/shotsfired  (login with an active LSU PAWS account is required) and through traditional classroom instruction upon request by to student, faculty and staff organizations, as well as university departments.
